Food for nursery children
Children bringing food in from home can cause cross contamination, due to allergens in their meals. For nursery staff, having to check food parcels brought by children from home is a time consuming process; we can take that stress away.

At Our Kitchen to Yours, we currently cater for many privately run nurseries with our daily meals services. All our staff members are fully trained on the Care Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and are educated on all the 14 allergens before they join our team.
At present, we cater for over 500 + children on a daily basis using a healthy eating plan called "Setting the Table". Setting the Table, launched by NHS Health care Scotland, is a seasonal revised nutritional guidance and food standard designed for early years' childcare providers.
Every season, a 4-weekly menu is created that consists of a main course and a desert. Any of the daily meals that contain any of the 14 allergens are clearly marked on the sheet that we provide with every meal.

Food safety
It is important that both our staff and the nursery staff have a great working relationship and communicate at all levels to ensure the food safety for all children. Very strict procedures are in place to ensure that no mistakes are made and the food is not mixed up with any other school. All children who have allergies have their meals separated from others with their names being clearly marked on the container to prevent cross contamination.
